FRONT 9
HOLE 1 (par 5)
|
Straight tee shot will give chance to hit green in 2. Bunkers off the tee come into play for the bigger hitter. Green guarded with 2 bunkers and large gully in front and left.

HOLE 2 (par 4)
|
Trees to the right and left do come into play if tee shot not accurate. Relatively easy 2nd shot to green.
|

HOLE 3 (par 3)
|
Wind affected par 3 with the green protected by bunkers to the left and right leaving the only place to miss green being long and right. Large deceptive length green.

hole 4 (par 4)
|
Wind affected par 3 with the green protected by bunkers to the left and right leaving the only place to miss green being long and right. Large deceptive length green.

hole 5 (par 5)
|
Rated the hardest hole on course due to many chances to encounter the out of bounds down the left of this long Par 5. 3 straight shots will find another elevated green with bunkers front left and right combined with steep drops either side of the green.

hole 6 (par 4)
|
Another demanding short Par 4. With left to right dog leg shape, a 200m tee shot left of centre avoiding left side out of bounds and definitely the thick trees right, will give a simple shot to 1 bunkered undulating green. A good hole, which like the 4th is very birdiable, but at the same time a round destroyer.

hole 7 (par 3)

Short Par 3, but if green not hit, difficult up and down. Extremely undulating putting surface where a tricky pin placement surface is easily found.

hole 8 (par 4)
|
Although straight, contoured fairway, combined with large tier right of centre, make a relatively simple approach to a flat (although 2 level) well bunkered green.

hole 9 (par 4)
|
Another very straight and lengthy hole but once again trees on the right tighten the hole up demanding a right of centre tee shot to an elevated flat green. A deceptive 2nd shot to any pin placement.

BACK 9
HOLE 10 (par 4)
|
Short, straight, away Par 4 to start the back nine. Only real danger is fairway bunker and trees short and right off the tee and 3 well positioned bunkers short left and right of the green.

HOLE 11 (par 4)
|
Due to large dip half way down fairway this hole plays the longest of all the par 4s. A demanding tee shot is then followed by another deceptive length 2nd shot to a difficult 2 tier green.

Hole 12 (par 3)
|
Gully in front and false front of green makes deceptive shot into moderate length par 3

HOLE 13 (par 5)
|
Best birdie chance on course with main requirement a straight tee shot and avoiding bunkers around green. A good hole to then start a demanding finish.

HOLE 14 (par 4)
|
Precise tee shot right of centre is needed due to large tree on the left which starts the dogleg left to flat green. One of the best holes at Lochiel.

HOLE 15 (par 3)
|
Long Par 3 which, due to a large slope going along the fairway, makes the green angle away from the tee and bringing the 2 bunkers (left and front right) into play. A challenging hole into a prevailing south westerly.

hole 16 (par 4)
|
Straight Par 4, but with many trees on the right from 120m out from the green, a tee shot left of centre sets up an excellent angle into this moderately sloped green.

hole 17 (par 4)
|
One of the nicest naturally sloped holes with an angled slope 200m out from the tee which, if successfully found, will add distance to your shot and set up the best angle to yet another elevated deceptive green.

hole 18 (par 5)
|
A good finishing hole which obviously 3 straight hits will give an excellent birdie chance but danger is evident with out of bounds all down the left and 5 bunkers off the tee, and to set up ideal 3rd shot, a precise 2nd must avoid a large slope on the right. Large flat green.
