FRONT 9

HOLE 1 (par 5)

A gentle opening dog-leg left par 5. The second shot must negotiate a deep depression in the middle of the fairway. While not overly penal, judging distance on the approach will be simplified by avoiding this feature.
图片
图片

HOLE 2 (par 4)

Positioning off the tee shot is vital on this very short par 4. While many will be tempted to get as close to the green as possible with the tee shot, real benefit is to be gained by ensuring an angle of approach up the length of the green. If the pin is near the back, an aggressive approach brings with it real danger!
图片
图片

HOLE 3 (par 3)

Not a long par 3 but club selection is vital. With the green being angled slightly from front right to back left, the green is effectively broken into two distinct sections (right and left). Be careful to select the club for the section of green you aim at.

图片

hole 4 (par 4)

This short par 4 dog legs from right to left. The contour through the fairway will reward a ball flight to match the dog-leg. But don't overdo it! Any shot with too much right to left flight will gather into a less than ideal spot.
图片
图片

hole 5 (par 4)

Not long but precision with the approach is vital. This green is split in two by a severe swale that separates the right from the left section.
图片
图片

hole 6 (par 3)

A delightful little par 3 with quite a large green however the green is split into three distinct sections. Get your tee shot into the section of the green that houses the flag and you'll have a great chance of a two.
图片
图片

hole 7 (par 4)

This fairway offers nice width but there is a definite advantage from keeping up the left half. The green is bisected by a small tier so once again club selection comes to the fore.
图片
图片

hole 8 (par 4)

A straight away par 4 made somewhat deceptive by the angle of the green (front right to back left) and positioning of the bunkers (both green side and fairway). In general a tee shot as close to the fairway bunker as you dare will give you the best approach.
图片
图片

hole 9 (par 4)

The pin placement is the key to driving on this hole. If back right, then the left side from the tee is favored - if on the left then up the right works well. You'll do well to stay under the hole (and therefore with an uphill putt).

图片

BACK 9

HOLE 10 (par 4)

You need a good tee shot to attack the pin on this hole. The safe approach is to the front right section of the green as any shot reaching the centre of the green brings the daunting swale to the right of the green into play. From the fairway it may appear that the lefthand bunker is the place to avoid - but sometimes appearances can be deceptive.
图片
图片

HOLE 11 (par 4)

The central bunker is the predominant feature on this hole. If it can be reached from the tee then decisions are to be made; to lay back or to drive alongside. They say fortune favors the bold - and sometimes they're right!
图片
图片

Hole 12 (par 4)

There's nowhere to hide on this hole. A par four that demands two well struck shots if the green is to be reached in regulation. Hit the middle of the green every day and you should be well satisfied.
图片
图片

HOLE 13 (par 3)

Seldom will the centre of this green be a poor result. A deep bunker on the right and daunting swale on the left makes the front half probably the smartest target.
图片
图片

HOLE 14 (par 5)

The Beast! Perhaps should be called Tipperary as it is a long way to go. This hole requires concentration from start to finish, and if the wind is into (which it often is) there won't be many who will be unhappy with a 5 on the card.
图片
图片

HOLE 15 (par 3)

Looks can be deceptive. This seemingly innocuous par 3 demands respect. A small green angled from left to right suits a shot shape to match. Anything leaking to the right will probably catch the swale and while not catastrophic, par will be tricky to achieve from down here.
图片
图片

hole 16 (par 5)

A respite after a really tough stretch of holes. This relatively short par 5 offers the opportunity to open your shoulders off the tee. Just be a little careful with the approach. With the pin on the right you may be better served with a full shot in as the front bunker demands respect.
图片
图片

hole 17 (par 4)

A tee shot following the right to left shape of the hole will be rewarded with a simple approach. If you leave your tee shot to the right then the contours around the green make life a little more challenging.
图片
图片

hole 18 (par 5)

A nice par 5 to finish. The key here is with the second shot. Fairway bunkers staggered in distance create a dilemma. A number of options apply, its just choosing the right one! Whatever happens, these bunkers should be avoided as a birdie chance might suddenly look more like a bogey.
